Could you use the help of an assistant or an additional employee?
I think we all know the answer to that, but in this blog post, I am going to share with you something better than an employee.
Something that doesn’t call in sick.
Something that doesn’t flirt with Julie in accounting.
I was talking with an agent from South Carolina the other day about helping him systematize his lead generation. He told me he works during the day and studies this marketing “stuff” at night. Reading forums, blog posts and watching YouTube videos.
He told me he came across a YouTube video (subscribe to my channel here) of mine that he enjoyed.
He bought a course or training from someone (not me) and requested a refund, almost immediately.
Classic “bait & switch” type of deal he told me.
I hear it all the time. The online marketing industry (the one I am in) and the real estate marketing industry are so similar — it’s scary.
A lot of people selling hopes and dreams.
A lot of bullshit.
He ended up watching more of my videos, as he found value in the first one. He told me he liked how I made a comment on one of the videos, that went something like this, “I am not going to promise you a new listing everyday yada…yada…yada…”
He went to my site, downloaded something of mine and got on my email list. He then scheduled a call.
The thing is, he told me the one video he watched was from last April. Almost a year ago!
That one video produced a very qualified lead for me.
That one video will most likely produce revenue for me, as it looks like we’ll do business together.
Almost 365 days after I uploaded it to YouTube!
It’s why I am such a fan of content marketing (blogging, videos, podcasts, etc). Your content can be working for you around the clock, 24/7/365.
If I have learned one thing in the last 6 months, it’s videos seem to drastically shorten the sales cycle. Typically, when someone finds a video of mine, they reach out within 2-3 days and are ready to give me the green stuff.
Blog posts take more time, usually. But still work and I enjoy writing — as you might be able to tell.
Are you creating content and adding value to your marketplace?
You see how this is similar to an employee, but a ton cheaper and more efficient?
Each piece of content is like a little minion out there working for you, around the clock.
Imagine having hundreds of minions working for you 24/7/365.
Imagine having a proven system to automate & systematize your lead generation.
A system is much better than an employee, too.
