Are you creating an experience for your clients?
An experience that gets people talking about you?
It really isn’t that difficult and I want to share something with you…
Ava is 18 months old.
I always thought I could raise her AND run a business.
I was wrong.
Although, she has forced me to become more efficient with my business. I have systems in place that deliver leads to me at all hours of the night — which is nice.
Well, more leads equals more work, which requires a bigger time commitment to my business. Ava was getting more active, so she required more time as well.
Something had to give…
…it was me.
I finally admitted to myself and my family, that I just couldn’t do both anymore. It wasn’t easy, but it was the right thing to do.
It wasn’t fair to Ava and it wasn’t fair to my clients, to be robbing them of my time & energy.
I was working a lot of late nights and every weekend.
We started taking her to a daycare about 6 weeks ago.
It hasn’t been easy dropping her off, but I am getting better.
I’m not going to lie, I cried like a little boy who dropped his ice cream cone, on a hot summer afternoon, the first couple of days.
Now, this place has 10 or 12 classrooms and kids from 8 weeks to 8 years old. I’d guess 70 or so kids, in total.
Michelle, the lady that runs the place, sits at the front desk.
Every morning, “Good morning Adam!” and when I leave, “Have a good day, Adam”
She remembers my name.
You might think that is trivial, but I enjoy it.
Of 70 or so kids, 70-140 parents walk through those doors and she remembers my name.
So how can you create an experience for your clients?
There are many ways, but I want to share a few, simple ideas…
- Send a birthday card or call them on their special day
- Mail them a March 5th card (everyone sends Christmas cards, go against the grain and send something unexpected on a random day)
- Call them every 6 months to see how things are going
You can keep track of all this stuff in just about any CRM. The first two things “set you back” a couple bucks. The third one would cost you a few minutes of your time.
They all would have an impact.
These simple gestures turn into referrals.
These simple gestures turn into repeat clients.
These simple gestures turn into consistent commissions.
Speaking of consistent commissions, I am looking to work with a few agents to help them build an automated marketing system, so that they can generate more….consistent commissions.

It really is the little things in business, and in life, that make the difference.
