They both found me…
Over the last few months, more and more agents are finding me on YouTube. So many are using YouTube as their search engine. BTW, it is the SECOND largest search engine in all Internet land.
Yes, bigger than Yahoo.
Bigger than Bing.
It appears Facebook and Twitter are going all in on video, too. In fact, Facebook is becoming a major player in the video space. They actually WANT you to use video.

Give them what they want!
With new live streaming videos apps Meerkat and Periscope, video is here. It has been said for the past few years, that “this is the year of video”. I remember it back in 2012 and in 2013. They said it last year, too.
This is a tremendous opportunity for agents who adapt early. Most agents are scared to get on camera.
I completely understand.
I was the same way in 2010.
I would do like 65 takes for a 30 second video.
Then it took me a week or 2 to publish it on YouTube.
Then another week or so to start sharing it.
Don’t be scared.
You have knowledge in your head that can help your marketplace. You’re being selfish by not sharing it. You have the power to serve more people and answering common questions on video, is a great place to start.
Answer questions you’ve been asked over the years.
- How do I buy a home?
- Why is “location, location, location” really that important?
- Should I hire a home inspector before buying? If so, why?
These are a few I just came up with. You should be able to come up with a ton more.
Shoot an individual video answering each question (takes 2-3 minutes)
Upload to YouTube.
Share on your social media sites.
Bonus points if you have your own site (you REALLY should, it’s 2015) you can share it there, too.
Now, you have these little videos (read: minions from Monday’s email) working for you
So, show them the whites of your eyes.
It’s a great way to build trust, differentiate yourself in a crowded marketplace and sell more homes.
