Do you use the Internet on your phone?
Have you ever looked at your website on your phone?
Is it mobile optimized?
Just because you can see your desktop site on a mobile phone doesn’t mean that it’s mobile optimized. Mobile sites are specifically designed for the small screen, with the needs of mobile users (your customers) in mind. A mobile optimized website helps your business connect with customers and increases conversions.
Did You Know?
- There are 1.2 BILLION people accessing the web from their mobile devices?
- 41% have turned to a competitor’s website after a bad mobile experience…
- 61% of people have better opinions of brands that offer a good mobile experience…
Over the last 30 days, my website traffic breakdown is as follows;
- Desktop – 75.1%
- Mobile – 19.5%
- Tablet – 5.3%
As you can see, 1 out of every 4 visitors are viewing this site from a mobile device (smartphone or tablet) and that number is only going to increase going forward.

The infograph below is from Neil Patel of Quick Sprout,
A few years back I designed a mobile optimized website for a personal injury attorney. We launched on a Monday and four days later someone called him because of his new optimized site. The guy had got in an accident on the freeway and searched for an attorney via his phone. He said he looked through 3 or 4 sites, but couldn’t find a phone number until he landed on his site. Needless to say, my client was happy as the case paid for the mobile design many times over.
Mobile is here and you must have a mobile strategy as that is where your customers are. At the very least have a mobile website, I am not a fan of mobile apps for small businesses. I don’t care who cold called you this week stating you had to have an app.
Don’t buy it, totally not necessary.
A mobile website? An absolute must. You should be able to get one developed for $300 – $600.
