I recently saw an article on Inc. last week about Facebook advertising.
Did you know 62% of small business owners say Facebook ads don’t work?
You can read the article here.
I can sum it up in 2 words.
I see it with colleagues of mine who are new to Facebook ads, I see it with real estate agents and I see it with other small business owners.
They go in thinking it’s going to be easy.
They go in thinking they are going to replicate other’s results. And these ‘others’ might have years of experience.
They have: unrealistic expectations.
When running Facebook ads, you will fail.
That is one thing I can promise you.
After 4+ years of doing this, I would say that 75% (or so) of my ads BOMB. They flat out don’t work. They lose me dollars.
To run a profitable Facebook campaign, you need to test test & test some more.
And get used to failing.
Fail fast, fail often, but always fail forward.
So when running Facebook ads, remember the 80/20 rule is in place.
I like to compare it to baseball…
Guys that bat .300 get into the Baseball Hall of Fame.
That means they get out 7 TIMES OUT OF 10!
And they still get in the Hall of Fame!
So remember that when you’re launching your next ad campaign. You should expect to find 2-3 winning ads out of every 10 you launch.

This is better than any employee as it NEVER calls in sick, takes a vacation or flirts with Debbie in accounting.
